Production Blog : Final Touches
Hello lovely blog family! I cannot believe this is one the last blogs before my final commercial! I am super excited as my production of the video is coming to an end. Now that I have added all of my photos, videos, and song choice, I am now selecting my final touches. This includes any extra transitioning, editing, or effects present in my commercial.
When I inserted my music into the commercial, the duration turned out to be around 2 minutes and 45 seconds. I didn't want that long of a commercial, so I first went in by trimming the sound. After that, I then shortened the video duration, as well as photos to fit the audio. After adjusting the clips and the music, I rearranged the order of my clips. I didn't want just photos and then videos. I set it up in a way that gave variety and "diversity". For instance, I would start with a photo, or two, then 1 or 2 videos, then photos again. To do this, I held down the clips and dragged and dropped them into the new placement I wanted them. Since I did have audio in my clips as well, I went in and silenced there audio. I made sure that it was off so it didn't interfere with the commercial music. After more trimming of clips, and making the commercial time efficient, I went back into the brightness feature. I liked the idea of having a dark, city at night type of vibe. I know I may seem like I am crazy, but I promise it makes sense! I had to go in and edit every clip individually, because they all varied in brightness, exposure, and saturation. To me, this made my commercial more aesthetically pleasing and calming. Not only did I like the idea of a low brightness, but the music matches the dark aesthetic. In addition to the illumination of the commercial, I also tested out some transitions. I wanted to add some cool transitions in between clips. Most of the ones I noticed were, in my opinion, extra. There were some with a lot going on, and I am all in for the more basic transitions. Things like slide, flip, rotate, and even fade ins or outs, are my cup of tea when in terms of transitions. I chose to primarily stick to slide and fade-ins throughout my commercial. I didn't need anything too extravagant to take away from the commercial.
Anyway, I feel like I have been doing lots of talking recently, and not enough showing! Thank you for certainly putting up with me! I cannot wait to share my commercial. I am excited for the visuals, audio, and the overall outcome. I guess it's my time to go unfortunately. Until next time!
