Production Blog : Editing

Image
Hey blog, its Marissa here! I am back and I am not ranting about me filming this fun project. Me and my group mates have proceeded to the more fun and "hard work". Although the editing wasn't necessarily hard. We have now progressed into editing our music video! Previously mentioned before, Cap-cut will be the editing software of our choice. It is most familiar with me and my partners. It is also easily manageable among the rest of the group. I decided that it would be easier for everyone to have access to the file, because feedback and collaboration was essential. Cap-cut allowed for me to share the project with my group mates, so they had editing access. This also allowed for us to save time, instead of having to go back and forth, asking each other if each clip was good. We all had access and visual to the music video, allowing for any edits at any time. After each member had access, the actual song for the video had to be implemented. Once again, Gone Girl; the clean

Hey bloggy blog blog! As always, its Marissa throwing the words in her head into this one blog. As discussed previously, there was a change to the last few ending scenes in the video. The video now ends  with a tragic accident happening. The main actor crashes the car, and unfortunately passes away from it. After the crash, the film automatically transitions in a black screen. This will present the words gone girl, which resembles the life of the individual. For filming the other half of the music video it involved being in a moving car for some parts. We had a designated, safe driver, drive the car around while we filmed from the back seat. We passed through the city while filming out through the window. When we filmed the scene of passing by the old school, we made sure it was a good visual. This scene is set to be in slow motion in the music video, so a clear video was needed. Once again, from the backseat of the car, we filmed out the window again. This time it was in a new locati

Hey Blog, its Marissa again! Im back again continuing, and sharing my journey of this music video. In the last blogs, I discussed the prepping I did individually, as well as with my team, for the video. So far we decided on the location, and overall format of the music video. For the film, we chose our group mate, Hailey to be main actor in the video. She portrays well acting skills, and a sense of creativity. This is essential to make our music video as good as we can. My group mates and I practiced some filming techniques, so her acting was improved. This included making sure not to make strange eye contact with the camera, as well as trying to act as naturally as possible. The music video is intended to seem realistic, so the actor must feel comfortable and natural in performing the tasks in the film. The initial filming of the video began inside our first location. The house in which we recorded in, was a family friends. In the house, we recorded the opening scenes on the video. T

Hey Blog, Its Marissa Rissa here! I am very excited to share some news about my music video that I am making with my group. As you may know already, and if you don't, our music video is about a girl leaving her life behind and moving into a new time. At least that is what is was going to be about. There has, unexpectedly been a change of plans! The music video will now consist of a tragic accident happening in the end of the music video. In the last 3 scenes, it was this girl exploring her new town, then moving into her new house. She then experiences flashbacks of her old home while moving into her new one. I believe a more interesting take to the music video could include an accident happening. For the new scenes, I would like to see the girl arriving in her new town. As she is driving, flashbacks of her old life, she is now leaving behind, clouds her head and all her thoughts. She is blinded with these memories, and looses control of the wheel. The wheel swiftly jerks and she c

Hey Blog! I know its been a while since have heard from me! I have been working with my group to formulate this music video, and we have pretty much figured everything out to begin recording. To film the video, we want to use CapCut. I recently used CapCut in my production of my commercial about me, so I am familiar with the software. My group mates, as well, are familiar, as they have used this editing software before too. The app has a good reputation, and is fairly easy to use. We will use this app because of its easily accessible and manageable. Whether we will have dedicated editors, or everyone, is undecided. All I know is, I would enjoy being able to edit the music video. I like to believe I have somewhat of some more experience with navigating and working the app, than my other group mates. I want to edit as we When It comes to filming, we will need to come to a time to meet with everyone. This may be hard because of our distance of housing, and schedules outside of school. I
