Production Blog : Editing

Hey bloggy blog! As you know, me and my group are in the process of finalizing the edits to our music video. So far, we have downloaded and implemented the actual music into the project. We have also put in the individual scene recordings. With the clips, we cropped them to adjusted them to necessary timing. We all worked on separate clips to make the editing process faster.
After that, we continued the editing process. When all the clips were put together and trimmed, we moved onto any extra visuals and transitions. This part was still essentially easy to complete, since we had an idea of the layout of Cap-cut. For the beginning scene, all I had to was insert a black screen and add text. When the text was added, I changed it to the words gone girl. I made the wording all capitalized, and changed the font of it. I adjusted the title to the center of the screen to add some extra emphasis. For the ending scene, a black screen was needed as well. I added a black screen and the words "Gone Girl" once again. In addition to the words, group decided that we would add credits to the clip as well. This included music credits, visual and editing credits, as well as production. We added this to not only give the credit were it was needed, but to make the music video as realistic to a professional one. When reviewing the film so far, I questioned if transitions were even needed. I decided that no transitions looked more smooth and natural. I thought it resembled that of other music videos as well. My group mates and I then decided that adding transitions were not necessary, and the scenes just split were enough. After deciding on transitions, we then went in and made sure the lighting was good in the clips. We adjusted any brightness, were it was needed. That was about all for the rest of the editing portion! We reviewed the final product, and were happy without our results.
I am, once again, happy with the outcome of this project, and cannot wait to share it! Thank you for hanging along for the journey! Until next time blog!
