The titles displayed during the opening sequence are directed by, screenplay, produced by, executive producers, co – produced by, director of photography, based on, editor, starring, and casting, music, and costume designer. 

 

  1. 2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? 

The images prioritized in the opening sequence are disturbing pictures such as torn and tainted photographs, northern lights, shadows. The sequence also fades often into black screens as ittransitions into the next horror like image. 

 

  1. 3. How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? 

The film establishes a feeling of the horror genre with eerie music in the background and a black screen that later has a title appear with a “scary” font. The beginning stays black, and the volume slowly increases as the film progresses.

Production Blog : Location

 Hey blog! It's Marissa once again, talking to you lovely folks. Today I will discussing some locations and "sets"' chosen for our opening sequence. It surely wasn't a difficult time choosing where we were going to film, but it took a little bit of time. For the last project, my groupmates and I had no idea where we were filming. We were in between a friends house, a friend of a moms house, or one of ours. We sort of waited too long, and didn't receive confirmation from anyone, so we ended up filming at my house. So, similar to last, we were in between a friends house or one of ours. Since we used my house last time, we decided to use it again as one of the locations. However, for our opening sequence we needed a separate location. So, we chose Hailey's house as the other place.
