Final Task Production Blog : Filming


Hello and welcome back blog fam! 

It's been a long time since we communicated, and I have missed you all very much. As you know, me and my groupmates, Hailey and Kylee, are working on a horror opening for a film. Today was our first day of filming! Before we even met, we had to negotiate a good time for all of us to get together, and where to film. We agreed to, once again, to film at my house, and to film during the night. We chose to nighttime to really emphasize the horror and dark effect for the audience. We planned to execute our filming after the time of 6:00pm, to make sure the sun was down and  remain somewhat dark in the house. We chose to film on Tuesdays and Thursdays because of our busy and diverse schedules.

To begin the film, Kylee and I would be the actors in the clip. We had Hailey recording since she wasn't needed just yet. We tried to act as natural as possible, but was sort of difficult because Kylee tends to laugh a lot and act silly. So it definitely took some trial and error! After some takes, we were about to finish up the first couple of scenes, which took place outside. We moved inside the my house to film the new few scenes. Inside, we now had an additional actor, whom was my brother! He was going to be starring as the perpetrator in our film. After filming the few scenes with my brother, Hailey drove to her house. Hailey's sister, Kaitlyn had to film the other scenes which would include Hailey, because Kylee and I remained at my house for the entirety of the rest of the film. Jonathan, my brother, went along with Hailey to her house. He would be the one stalking and murdering Hailey in the end. Anyway blog, that's all for now! Production Blog: Editing

 Hello Blog! I'm back, and this time with more progress on the editing of our opening sequence. Kylee, our dedicated editor decided it would be best to split up the project to work into sections. It made a lot of sense to Hailey and I. In a sense that it would initially help the editing process run more efficiently. And if anything were to go wrong anyway, we had the project shared, and were able to collaborate right in the moment. The idea of splitting sections also allowed involvement from all group members in one aspect or another. Kylee was quick about her selected section. She claimed to edit the ending scenes because she enjoyed them most. She said watching it was intruiging, and it would be the enjoyable to edit. We didn't compete nor complain with her pick, because she was the initial editor. So, it was kind of what kylee wants, kylee gets, type of situation! LOL. Reflection

 Hey blog! Its Marissa again here, and I am officially done with my commercial! I hope it was entertaining to watch. I am here to reflect on the experience and creation of the video. I first started off with the technological device of a Ipad. I chose the Ipad because its not as big as a computer, has many features, and has editing software other computers may not have. I used the editing software of Cap cut to then publish my commercial. I did actually have my phone, to select pictures from my camera roll and send videos as well. I chose my Ipad not only because of the ease of maneuvering it, but because I have alot of storage on my Ipad. After downloading capcut on my Ipad, I explored this app and was able to find my way around it, implementing photos and videos to then make my commercial. Production Blog : Music

 Hello blog I'm back! Each time we talk, the closer we are to sharing our opening sequence. It is all coming together piece by piece. The next step into our project, was selecting our music. My teacher informed the class that we either had the chance of using owned music or audios off of royalty free music. However, with owned music, you must contact the company or actual owners to be granted permission to use their sound. We would have to receive an email stating the confirmation before we were able to continue with our project. After me and my groupmates discussed, we decided that we don't know how long we'd have to wait to hear back or if they would charge anything. We were only hesitant about royalty free music because the sound choices would be on the generic side. There was a chance of others having either similar, or the same song choices for their opening sequences or movies already out there.  However, it was all going to work out!
