Production Blog : Props
Hello blog family! I love how consistent we've been getting. This project is coming along and I know you all can't wait to see the final product. If you've been keeping up with my previous rants, you know quite a bit about my upcoming project. Today, I wanted to discuss some of the props we will be using. I wonder if humans count as any. Hmm? Just kidding!
As you know, we chose the genre of horror. So, we obviously had to base our props off of that while keeping in mind our own opening sequence, and what we needed. When we did our research common things in horror films were weapons, masks, blood, chains, and dark clothing.
For our film, we had the killer, Jonathan, wear all black clothing instead of having to purchase a black suit or black villain costume, or whatever those things are called. For Jonathan, one purchase we did make for him was a mask. We found a scream movie mask online and purchased it. We got it off of amazon for a decent price. We all ended up loving the mask! Very fun, but scary you must say.
Other props we purchased were fake blood, and plastic fake movie knives. This was all purchased on amazon, using our amazon prime accounts. So there was some money being spent on this project. I am not quite sure if a laptop would be considered a prop, but we sure did use one or two in the opening sequence.
With the props, safety was assessed. We made sure all props were handled properly, and people were kept safe. We purchased fake, plastic movie knives for that reason. Real knives pose at too much of a threat to the well being of any of my groupmates or participants. We also chose fake blood, instead of making someone bleed, for obvious reasons. It can be said the health and safety of people and property were taken into well consideration before executing this project.
Anyway bloggy blog family! I am getting tired, so I think it's time for me to end it here. See you all soon!
